Where It Began
The story of Egyptian Kings began when Ahmed traveled from Egypt to Thailand to marry Sofia.
As Muslims, we wanted our work and the food we serve to reflect our values. Ahmed could not work in restaurants that used pork, so together we decided to start something of our own: a small Halal kebab business.
We started with very limited resources. We secured a small spot at the Saturday Walking Street and bought our first kebab machine with the little money we had.
On our very first day, we prepared 15 kilograms of kebab — and sold it all.
That day marked the true beginning of our journey.
Growing Through Chiang Mai
After that, we started selling at different walking streets and markets around Chiang Mai. We worked together, learned together, and slowly began building a name for our food.
After the COVID period, Sofia returned to her previous job, and we started looking for a permanent location where Ahmed could open a restaurant.
The First Home of Egyptian Kings
Eventually, we found a small space at Ancient House.
That little shop became the first home of Egyptian Kings Restaurant. We served Halal kebabs, burgers, Egyptian dishes, and a variety of Halal food.
In the beginning, it was just the two of us doing everything ourselves.
Growing With Our Customers
Over time, customers began leaving us many wonderful reviews. Their kind words made us happy and gave us confidence that we were on the right path.
Then another opportunity came. The shop next door became available, so we decided to expand.
Our tiny restaurant grew into a larger space with eight tables, while our original little shop became the kitchen.
And that is how Egyptian Kings began to grow — not from a huge investment, but from a small beginning, hard work, love for food, and faith in Allah.
This Is Our Story
From the very beginning, we have cooked with love. Throughout our journey, we have always prayed to Allah for guidance, blessings, and success.
This is not just the story of a restaurant.
This is our story.
And the story of Egyptian Kings continues.
